Amahle Ntshinka is the friendly face and calm presence who keeps Arise running smoothly. With a background in Public Management and hands-on experience across finance, procurement, customer service, and administration, Amahle brings both heart and skill into everything she does.
Her journey has taken her through roles in government departments, retail, finance, and warehouse operations—each one shaping her into the organised, detail-oriented, and approachable professional she is today. From managing vendor relations to helping customers with warmth and care, Amahle’s diverse experience means she can juggle a wide variety of tasks while keeping things running seamlessly behind the scenes.
Amahle believes in doing things with kindness, purpose, and a touch of grace. Whether she’s answering phones, managing bookings, or supporting the team, she does it with quiet confidence and a big smile. Blythe Briggis a Specialist Wellness Counsellor who obtained her B.Soc.Sc(Hons) Psychology degree, with distinction, from The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).
Her counselling journey began at Genesis Treatment Solutions (an in-patient addictions treatment center), when she joined the team as an intern. Blythe's passion exploded when she entered the working world of psychology and after finishing her internship she decided to open up her own counselling practice so that she could have a more hands on and personal approach to counselling.
Being an academic who is passionate about their field of work, Blythe is constantly researching, reading and applying new approaches to her practice. She believes that every client is different and therefore needs a unique and personal style of counselling to help them on their journey. Her travels throughout her life have also given her unique insight into interacting with people from all different Cultures and situations.
Blythe's academic background has given her the tools and skills to help others, while her personal background has given her the empathy and understanding she needs to connect with her clients. Blythe feels as though counselling is something she was born to do and that it is her duty to help others. Through counselling she believes that everyone can heal and become the best version of themselves.
Christiane Irene is a southern suburbs based Specialist Wellness Counsellor; DBT practitioner; and Coach. Christiane obtained her Bachelor of arts Honours in Psychology degree, with distinction, from Varsity College.
Her Counselling journey began at The Family Counselling Center, when she joined the counselling apprenticeship program; this program created a bridge, connecting the theory taught in university with the real world. On the completion of this apprenticeship, Christiane joined The Family Counselling Center team as a practicing counsellor; It was here that she found her passion to encourage the development of personal insight for her clients, and to provide them with the tools necessary to assist them on their journey.
This passion to encourage the development of personal insight for her clients has inspired Christiane to utilize holistic approaches towards her clients’ unique needs and has in turn, inspired her to enroll in many courses and training programs in her search to provide unique and client tailored approaches in her work as a mental health care practitioner.
The knowledge, skills and experiences Christiane has gained during her psychological studies and ventures has shaped and enabled her to view the world differently, to utilizeher strengths ininnovative and creative ways,and has provided her with the power of understanding and an empathy for adversity.
Kelly Davids is an HPCSA Registered Counsellor who offers a warm, non-judgemental, and supportive space where clients can explore their healing journey with compassion and care. Her work is grounded in a deep passion for personal and community development, and she is especially dedicated to supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate life’s emotional challenges and transitions.
Whether clients are facing stress, anxiety, grief, self-doubt, or a sense of feeling stuck or uncertain, Kelly believes that healing and growth are always possible—with the right support, no one has to face it alone. She walks alongside her clients with curiosity, empathy, and encouragement, helping them reconnect with their sense of self and move toward the life they want to live.
Kelly incorporates tools from Positive Psychology to create personalised wellness plans tailored to each individual’s needs. She works both virtually and in person, offering a calm and grounded space where clients can process trauma, build confidence, and learn practical strategies to manage life’s demands—at their own pace.
She understands that starting counselling can feel daunting, and she meets each client exactly where they are, gently supporting them as they take brave steps toward clarity, resilience, and self-discovery.
Thea Felmoreis a Specialist Wellness Counsellor registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP). She holds a Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Psychology from the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).
Her counselling experience includes time at Hope House Counselling Centre, where she provided one-on-one support to clients from a wide range of cultural and personal backgrounds. It was during this time that she discovered a particular passion for working with pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults—an age group she believes holds immense potential for early intervention and long-term emotional wellbeing.
Thea brings both extensive academic training and rich lived experience into the therapeutic space. She offers a warm, empathetic, and open-minded presence, working from a client-centred, solution-focused approach. Her sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on identifying and addressing the issues that matter most to each individual.
Pam Govenderis a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of practice, during which she developed a strong passion for trauma healing and personal growth. Her work within the Cape Town community inspired a deeper interest in integrative, holistic approaches to wellbeing.
To further enrich her expertise, Pam pursued postgraduate studies in the Philosophy of Rehabilitation at Stellenbosch University, embracing a model that weaves together the mind, body, and soul. She is also a trained Integral Yoga Teacher and incorporates Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) into her therapeutic work to support emotional release and nervous system regulation.
In 2019, Pam began her training in Psychodrama psychotherapy, a dynamic modality that she now brings into both individual and group work. Through this approach, she supports clients in processing triggers and developing healthier, more adaptive roles in their lives.
Pam’s compassionate presence and holistic skill set make her a deeply grounding support for those navigating healing, change, and personal transformation.
Dr Shehani Pererais a Registered Social Worker and public health specialist with nearly a decade of experience in the field. Throughout her career, she has served as a counsellor and consultant across various NGOs, community improvement districts, and international organisations.
Dr Perera offers compassionate, culturally-aware therapy grounded in mindfulness, personal resilience, and people-centred care. She provides individual, group, and family counselling, drawing on multiple therapeutic approaches including strengths-based perspective, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), attachment therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
As a social worker, Dr Perera provides holistic support that extends beyond therapy to include practical social service assistance, such as helping clients apply for social assistance grants.
